We are thrilled to share the success of the first “Kids Think Blue” event, organized within the framework of the SeaTecHub project. This groundbreaking initiative, aimed at fostering awareness about the marine environment and ocean literacy among children and youth, brought together over 200 students from primary and secondary education. Hosted by the AKTI Project and Research Centre, celebrating 23 years of remarkable environmental initiatives, the event was a collaborative effort that included, among other organisations and associations, the Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute (CMMI).
Engaging Activities:
The event featured a diverse range of activities designed to educate and inspire the next generation of environmental stewards. Participants eagerly took part in beach cleanup initiatives, demonstrating their commitment to preserving our oceans. The sight of students actively engaging in hands-on efforts to keep our beaches clean was truly heartening.
Utilizing ROV for Education and Exploration:
A highlight of the event was the captivating demonstration of a Remote Operated Vehicle (ROV) presented by the SeaTecHub project and the Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute (CMMI). Attendees were treated to an eye-opening experience as they witnessed the capabilities of this advanced technology. The ROV demonstration not only showcased cutting-edge marine exploration but also provided valuable insights into the importance of technological innovation in understanding and preserving our oceans.
